SP Boosts Industrials Practice with addition of New Senior MD
John Chrysikopoulos joins as Senior Managing Director to Lead Industrials Coverage
Sonenshine Partners is pleased to announce that John Chrysikopoulos has joined the firm as Senior Managing Director. Mr. Chrysikopoulos brings over 30 years of investment banking experience and will be leading the firm’s coverage of the Industrials sector.
Mr. Chrysikopoulos began his career at Goldman Sachs, where he spent 14 years, first as a Senior Equity Research Analyst ranked #1 by Institutional Investor in the Paper & Forest Products sector and then as a Managing Director, Investment Banking in the Industrials & Natural Resources group. Mr. Chrysikopoulos then spent 10 years at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup as a Managing Director, Investment Banking in their Industrials group. Most recently, prior to joining Sonenshine Partners, he served as President of AXIA Capital Markets, a boutique investment bank focused on Southern Europe.
Mr. Chrysikopoulos has significant transaction experience having executed M&A and Capital Markets transactions totaling in excess of $40 billion. Mr. Chrysikopoulos historically has had a generalist Industrials background, with a sub-specialty in the Paper & Packaging industry. Illustrative transactions that Mr. Chrysikopoulos has advised on include the $1 billion sale of Prairie Packaging to Pactiv, the $2.4 billion sale of Temple Inland’s timberlands, the $4.8 billion acquisition of Consolidated Papers by Stora Enso, the $610 million acquisition of Georgia-Pacific assets by Koch Industries, the $775 million sale of Chesapeake’s Tissue Business to Georgia-Pacific, and the $920 million cross-conditional debt and equity tender offers by Temple Inland for Gaylord Container.
